In Year Admissions
Thank you for your interest in transferring your child to Weydon School. If your child needs to join us outside of the normal admissions round, you can apply for an In-Year Admission.
Weydon School is part of the Weydon Multi Academy Trust (WMAT), which manages admissions, waiting lists, and place allocations.
Who Can Apply for an In-Year Admission?
You can apply if:
- You are moving house, and your child cannot continue at their current school.
- Your child has been home-schooled, and you now want them to attend a mainstream school.
- Your child is currently at another school, but you wish to transfer them to Weydon.
How to Apply
You can apply directly through Surrey Admissions https://www.surreycc.gov.uk/schools-and-learning/schools/admissions/in-year
Do not withdraw your child from their current school until you have secured a place elsewhere.
When to Apply
- Up to 4 weeks before the place is needed.
- Armed Forces & Crown Servants relocating to the area can apply up to 4 months in advance.
- For September starts, applications open in early July.
Application Process
You can apply in two ways:
- Online: Use the In-Year Admissions Portal.
- Paper Application: Complete Form CMA. If you need a CMA form to be sent you, please contact us at 01252 900550 or email admissions@weydonschool.surrey.sch.uk.
Additional Requirements
The person applying must have parental responsibility for the child. If unsure, include a covering letter explaining your situation.
Please attach/upload two proofs of residency.
If applicable, include supporting documents (e.g., medical, or social reasons for school transfer).
What Happens Next?
- Processing Time: We aim to process applications and notify you within 15 school days.
- Accepting a Place: If your child is offered a place, you must accept it within two weeks, or the offer may be withdrawn.
- Starting at Weydon: Your child will usually start within 10 school days of accepting the place. If a delay is needed, the longest deferral is normally until the next half term.
If We Cannot Offer a Place
- Your child will be added to our waiting list, ranked according to our Admissions Policy.
- Positions on the list may move up or down depending on new applicants with higher priority.
- Waiting lists reset at the end of each academic year, so if you still want a place the following year, you will need to reapply.
If your application is unsuccessful, you have the right to appeal - see our website for appeal details. All applications and offers are shared with Local Authority Admissions within two days.
