Weydon School secures spot in the renowned Good Schools Guide
The Good Schools Guide is the UK’s number one school guide, a trusted resource helping parents select the best education for their children. No school can buy their way into The Good Schools Guide’s good books as each school is selected on merit alone. Writers visit every single school, interview the head, speak to pupils and parents, analyse academic performance and challenge the hype. The process ensures independent, forthright and unbiased reviews and gives it the unique authority that has earned the trust of parents and educational organisations worldwide for over 35 years.
The Good Schools Guide includes around 1,300 schools countrywide, many of which are from the independent sector. The full review of Weydon School can be read below with their ‘last word’ stating “Solid processes and established teaching methods are underpinned with real care and delivered by an established, happy staff. Proving big can be beautiful, this is slick state schooling at its best.”
Due to licencing requirements, quoting from the report is rightfully restricted to encourage a balanced overview from the full report. The report however noted that Weydon rivals many independent schools both in its facilities and results and praise was given to pupils, staff and pastoral care alike.
Principal Jackie Sharman commented “this is a significant milestone for Weydon School; we know there is a rigorous selection process and are delighted to be included. Weydon was described as ‘warm and respectful’, a testament to both staff and students and I could not be more proud”.
