Children In Need Fundraiser A Real Success

Weydon School Fundraises for Children in Need

Weydon School once again participated in a day of fundraising for Children In Need with the whole school taking part in the activities.

Students and staff donated to this very worthy cause in a number of ways. The Senior Students came up with the theme this year which was ‘Beach Bonanza’ and they didn’t disappoint.  Many of the staff wore outfits in the form of sea creatures and the Principal, Mrs Jackie Sharman turned up as the school’s very own mermaid!  Students joined in too and it was so wonderful seeing everyone taking part after not being able to do anything last year.

There were stalls to buy items, games to play, activities such as limbo dancing, participating in a photo booth and a popular game was throwing wet sponges at members of staff who were locked in stocks!!

Students put on dance performances, student bands were playing and the staff put on a flash mob in the central playground which was hugely enjoyed by the students.

This wonderful day was a huge success and the school raised  £2077.16 for this wonderful cause

Principal, Mrs Jackie Sharman commented; “This is such a worthy cause and we were so delighted to be able to fundraise this year.  The Senior Students did a fantastic job of organising this event and we all had a great time.  It was so lovely to see so many smiling faces and everyone coming together to raise money in this way.”
