Farnham Food Bank Donations

Weydon School Students Donate to Farnham Food Bank

As in years gone by at this time of year, Weydon students wanted to organise donations to the local Food Bank. They approached the Farnham Food Bank asking if the school can help create special Christmas Hampers for those families who may well find themselves in hardship this Christmas.   As the preparations for the Christmas Hampers are well under way, the students agreed with Farnham Food Bank to collect specific items. Because they only work with a certain number of families, they are keen not to create waste, so Weydon School asked their parents to donate specific items to avoid an excess of donations that the food bank cannot store or share.

Mr Matthew Venton, Deputy Principal commented: “This month Weydon students and families have supported and fundraised for Children In Need, a toilet twinning charity and now the Farnham Food Bank.  They are incredible and it is a privilege to work with students to support those in need.”

The items decided upon were the chocolate selection boxes.  In true Weydon style, students and their families did not disappoint and a huge number of varying styles of chocolate selection boxes were donated.

Mel Cracknell, The Farnham Food Bank Warehouse Manager commented: “Thank you for all your support it is very much appreciated.”
