World Toilet Day Fundraising Success
Weydon School World Toilet Day
Despite the limitations of various lockdowns and restrictions due to the COVID pandemic, Weydon School students have continued to fundraise for World Toilet Day this year and successfully raised £1000 for the charity Toilet Twinning (www.toilettwinning.org). The charity has been able to build 4 toilet blocks for schools in Afghanistan, Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda with this donation.
This fundraising effort would not have been possible if it wasn’t for the planning, organisation and commitment of the Geography student leaders – Oliver Burland and Will Herbert who together led this initiative including delivering a remote assembly to students and running a quiz.
Mr Ben Bingham, Head of Humanities commented: “This is an amazing achievement and we are very proud of our Student Leaders who made this happen. We would like to thank all students and parents who contributed money to the fundraising cause and we were humbled by their generosity during a difficult time.
If you would like to consider twinning your toilet at home and support the charity further, please visit www.toilettwinning.org where more information can be found.
