Thank you to local businesses for their donations

Weydon School Thanks Local Businesses

Over the Easter holidays the Weydon Multi Academy Trust arranged for one of its schools, Farnham Heath End to remain open to provide a venue for keyworkers children to attend.

Students from Farnham Heath End and Weydon School were able to attend Easter Camps set up by the staff. These students were the children of keyworkers who needed to carry on working during the Coronavirus crisis.  To help the parents, these schools provided a service throughout the two weeks of the Easter holidays.

The students attended the Easter camps which comprised of various activities including; fun sports activities and competitions, crafts, cooking to name a few.  The students thoroughly enjoyed the activities and the generosity of the staff who gave up their holidays to run the Camps and the local businesses for their donations.

Waitrose kindly donated Easter eggs for the children to take home, some tomato plants and additional Easter eggs to be used for an Easter egg hunt. Local food provider, Cook, donated food parcels for the families in the form of ‘care packages’ and Bookers generously donated some popcorn and drinks for the ‘movie-mania’ afternoon.

Mrs Jackie Sharman, Principal of Weydon School commented; “We are so grateful to the local businesses who donated so generously and to the staff for giving up their time. The students from both schools thoroughly enjoyed the activities and the time spent together. A big thank you to Farnham Heath End for hosting the Easter Camps.”
