Weydon School Dance Show!

Dance show 6

Weydon School’s annual dance show was a roaring success for the 8th year running with two evening performances.  The evening featured over 140 Weydon school students who put on an amazing spectacle of dance moves.

Students from Weydon showcased their talents in both individual and group dances and wowed the audiences over the two nights.

The talented students performed different pieces from hip-hop, contemporary fusions to classical ballet, journeying from the planet’s landscapes to catwalks. There were amazing performances by Weydon’s Dance Academy, Legit Boys Dance Group and KS3 and KS4 Dance Clubs.

The audience were enthralled by the talent on offer and the schools’ Medici theatre came alive with the young performers who performed.

There was a range of ages, abilities and style but they all came together through dance.  Miss Hester Gill, Head of Dance at Weydon commented: “The students have worked incredibly hard, dedicating many lunch times, after-school time and a weekend session to rehearse and refine their dance pieces. Without this commitment and genuine love for dance, the performances could not have been possible. I am extremely proud of what each and every member of the cast  has achieved and I’m sure those who saw the performance, will agree.”

Funds were raised for future Creative Arts performances with a cake sale raising money for the Year 11 Prom.  Donations from the refreshments went towards Weydon’s International Trips programme.

For new parents we have numerous opportunities to visit our school. The next opportunity to see our School In Action is Wednesday 25th March.  Please visit our website for full details on how to book: www.weydonschool.surrey.sch.uk
